Manufacturing Training Services

The purpose of LeanTech training is to implement and to change culture. Our seasoned instructors bring real-world experience to the class room. Students walk away with a broadened viewpoint, and new tools, practices, and principles to use in the real world.

The training is based on:

  • Customer Focus
    • Keeping the customer's interests at the heart of every decision
  • Lean principles
    • We may choose other methods, but we cannot avoid the consequences
    • Eliminating waste invariably provides benefits
  • Value Adding Capability: Time, Quality, Cost and Features
    • Understanding and maximizing what the Customer values
    • In-house
    • In the supply chain
  • Mathematical basis of design and implementation
    • Material kanban pull as a calculated component of the supply chain
    • Strategic inventories
    • Resources: man and machine
    • Capacity: process times, takt and factors that impact it, setup/changeovers
    • Inventory calculations and kanban replenishment system
    • Understanding inventory as a customer-driven tool established by a calculated business decision
    • Synchronous pull or JIT decisions
  • Replicatable method: principles-based, formulae, step-by-step process
  • Hear, discuss, calculate, apply (simulation), measure

The heart of the training is a three (3) or four (4) day "Lean Manufacturing Advanced Implementation Workshop". This course is based on highly successful and effective course teaching methods. It is called “advanced” NOT because it is limited only to students who already understand a lot about lean and flow, but because the implementation concepts it teaches are advanced compared to what most typical lean practitioners teach and implement. In fact, any and all employees could benefit a great deal from attending this course, even those in not production-related disciplines, such as sales, human resources, finance, etc. And whether an implementation is for manufacturing or administrative processes, we need the involvement of sales, finance, human resources, etc. (These concepts taught are directly applicable to transactional or administrative process flow in a non-production environment.)

It will focus on system-wide solutions for real customer satisfactions. Done in this way it will avoid sub-optimization, which means that you may make a decision which brings benefit to one part of the factory, but at the same time hurts the company as a whole.)

The course is taught by a LeanTech professional who has many years of teaching experience to manufacturing audiences. He is an effective communicator to people at all levels of leadership experience and education, able to bridge cultural gaps with personable teaching methods. He explains concepts on the right level for the student group’s understanding.

We invite you to contact us for a free consultation to discuss benefits you can receive in your administrative or transactional processes.
